I’ve been thinking a lot about Organic Erotic recently. We’ve been running for three years now, this month.
When we first started, it was just me and Joanna.
We started the company out of our living room.
This is us.
Now, there are five women on the team: me, Rachel, Rachael, Leah, and Joanna. From two to five. My heart feels full working with this team.
It hasn’t always been just the five of us. Other women have come in and out, Alisha, LaJoy, Sofia, Jennifer, and Lisa. And even more who worked alongside us as consultants.
It has been a beautiful ride of women coming together to create something meaningful.
As Organic Erotic keeps growing, I notice I don’t talk much about the fact that we are a woman-run company. I am deeply grateful for the women who have worked with us, past and present, for all they have taught me and all they bring.
At Organic Erotic, we sell furniture and home goods, but there is so much more we offer. I want to start sharing that more. We truly are experts in making a space feel good, and I want everyone to have those skills. There is so much love, power, inspiration, and joy inside what we do. I want to share that more, too.
Recently, Leah and I have been making these fun videos. We record for about 20 minutes, talking, laughing, and sharing about our shop in NYC and then I edit them down to 1.5 minutes of gold. They make me laugh. They bring me so much joy. I’ve attached our most recent one here, along with a photo of me and Leah.
As we make them, what I realize is this: yes, there is work that goes into running a business. Discipline. Daily action. But there is also so much fun and love.
I am grateful to be running Organic Erotic with Leah. She brings softness, joy, and vibrance to my life. Leah loves talking to people. She truly loves our products and knows so many facts about each one. I’m more of the “feels good” partner.
I know this is a longer email. And I want to begin shifting these emails from simply telling you what furniture and home goods we have, to sharing more about our relationship with this company, the inspiration behind it, and what is opening for me and for Organic Erotic.
