Wormwood Coffee Table

Small and grounded, a coffee table carved by hand from a single live-edge slab. The kind of piece your room quietly gathers around.

The top keeps its edge exactly as the wood grew, uneven and alive, left rough under the hand rather than sanded smooth. Long straight grain catches the light down its length. Near one corner, a small cluster of natural wormholes and a quiet knot mark the wood's own history, not damage, just time held in the surface. Four thick, square legs rise straight from the floor, joined to the top with visible wooden pegs and a double stretcher rail beneath, honest joinery that asks to be looked at from underneath as much as above. The whole piece wears a dry, weathered grey that lets the warm brown of the grain show through.

Picture it low at your knee. A cup going cold, a stack of the books you keep circling back to, your feet bare on the floor beside it. Small enough to live anywhere in the room, sturdy enough to hold whatever the day sets down on it.

It settles in like it has always been there.
