A brown velvet the color of steeped tea, poured over a body of carved wood with real presence. This camelback sofa carries its age with quiet grace.
The frame is hand carved, dark and warm, with a serpentine crest rising and falling in soft waves, carved detail at its center, and six cabriole legs that curl down to scrolled feet. The arms roll low and full, sitting well beneath the line of the back, so the silhouette reads like a wave caught mid motion. Under your hand the velvet is striated, warm and soft, deepest in the shadows of the cushions and paled gold where light finds it.
A piece that has lived gently, in good, clean condition, holding you the way older, well made things do.
