The Citron Bergère Chair
A wash of chartreuse velvet over an old French bergère, the color of citrus caught in low light and the shape of a chair built for staying a while.
The back rises tall and rounded, closed at the sides the way a real bergère should be, so once you're in it you're held, not just seated. A small bouquet of carved flowers sits at the crest, worn soft where hands have rested on the top rail for decades. The legs curve in the old cabriole line, each one meeting a tiny carved blossom at the seat rail, and the cream paint has rubbed back to raw wood at every place a hand or a knee would naturally land. That's not damage. That's the chair telling you how it's been used.
The velvet itself is the real story. Crushed and striated, it shifts between gold and deep olive depending on where the light catches it, and it carries a few soft watermarks from years of living in someone's actual house. Sink into the loose seat cushion, let your coffee go cold, read past the point where you meant to stop. The color does something no neutral chair can: it wakes a room up instead of disappearing into it.
A genuine vintage find, offered here in the condition its years have given it, at an Organic Erotic exclusive price.
