Red clay left close to raw. The rim is torn rather than trued, chipped and uneven all the way around, and the outside carries the marks of the tool that shaped it. Iron in the body burns through in dark flecks.
It reads warm in a room the way brick does. Set it down empty and it still looks like it is holding something.
