A pair of bergères, made for sinking into.

The bergère was born in eighteenth-century France, the salon's softest chair, closed at the sides and built for lingering rather than posture. These take the gondola form, the back sweeping around you in one unbroken curve and falling into the arms. In the Louis XV style, likely mid-century.

Dusty rose velvet, softly faded, the nap catching the light as you move. A pale pink braid traces every edge. The frames are painted a worn celadon green, rubbed through at the corners the way a well-loved thing should be. Pink and green, a Rococo pairing; a little feminine, and a feeling of breath.

Set them facing each other with a small table between. Two chairs for long conversations, a glass of wine, a slow afternoon. They hold you, and they reflect you back a little softer.

A vintage pair in good condition, with honest wear to the painted frames, at an Organic Erotic exclusive price. Sold as a pair.
