The Gyro Crystal Floor Lamp is Timothy Oulton's reinterpretation of nineteenth-century physicist Léon Foucault's gyroscope — a framework of aged iron spheres fixed around a traditional Georgian-style crystal chandelier, industrial form colliding with romance.

$1,800 each, sold individually or as the pair.

The form is spare and orbital, rings of hand-forged iron in a deep antique rust finish crossing at the center like something borrowed from an old observatory. Inside, the chandelier hangs suspended: six candlelit arms in white, prisms and pendants catching whatever light moves through the room.

Picture them flanking a bed, a reading chair, the far ends of a long console. Morning light passes through the crystal and scatters across the wall. At night, six small flames warm the room from the inside of the orb. The iron ages the way old things should, a little rust, a little history, nothing about it precious.

One on either side of a doorway, or a pair standing sentinel in a bedroom corner. However you place them, they hold a room the way old chandeliers used to hold a hallway. Quiet, a little theatrical, entirely their own.

Materials
Hand-forged iron frame in an aged antique rust finish, with white candle sleeves and hand-polished crystal prisms and pendants. Six E12 candelabra bulbs included, dimmable, 150W max.
