Gold-Rim Swirl Coupe, Uranium Glass
$32.00
Hocking Glass Company made this coupe in the late 1920s and early 1930s, in the Circle pattern: a tight ring of horizontal ribs circling the bowl, a swirled stem, and a rayed star pressed into the foot. The gold band at the rim has worn thin in spots, the kind of wear that only comes from eighty-some years of actual use.
This is confirmed uranium glass. Under UV light it turns an electric, unmistakable green, the kind of glow that made Depression-era glass famous long before anyone worried about what was in it.
Rim diameter 3.5", height 4 3/4", base diameter 2.5". One of a kind.
