Epoch, Volume II, Antique Edition

Dusty violet cloth with a gilt lantern on the cover, faded exactly as well as you would want.

The purple has gone soft and uneven across the boards, lighter where light reached it and deeper in the shadow of the shelf it spent its life on. A thin gold rule frames the front, with a small gilt lantern device set inside it. The spine is lettered in gold going green. At over an inch and a half thick it is the heavier of the pair.

Percy MacKaye, the second volume, published by Boni and Liveright. A big flat book that wants to lie down rather than stand up. Put it at the bottom of a stack and let everything else sit on it.

Antique and honestly worn. Rubbed boards, soft corners and fading, consistent with age.
