A gold sky over a city built entirely from stacked blocks of colour — coral, maroon, teal, cobalt, ochre — towers crowding one another all the way to the horizon. Laid across the lower half, drawn in the same flat knife strokes as the buildings, a trumpet stretches out from the left and an upright bass stands at the right. The instruments are made of the city and the city is made of the music.

At nine feet across this is the largest work in the collection. It does not decorate a wall, it becomes one. Give it a long unbroken run and stand back.
