Couchdate Hand - Rolled Incense
Frankincense (olibanum) is an aromatic resin obtained from the Boswelia tree. Trees take about 10 years to mature enough to start producing this resin, and can only be tapped 2-3 a year. This incense is slightly sweet and light, with notes of pine, spice, and white musk.
Rose flowers must be harvested by hand, in the morning before sunrise, and distilled immediately. Done in large copper stills, the process and temperatures must be painstakingly monitored. This incense is floral, woody, and soft.
Oud (Agarwood) is a fragrant, dark resinous wood. The processing of oud is as intensive as it gets - fist, you must grow the Aquilaria tree and allow it to mature, taking about 30 years.. Them, you must infect it withe mold Phaeoacremonium, which will cause the tree to produce a dark, fragrant resin. This process take 5 years. This tree is harvested, and this wood is peeled from the rest by hand over the course of 6 months. Then it is chipped and distilled by master distillers over the course of several months, to produce a very small amount of oil. This incense is rich and natural, with woody, smokey, and mysterious notes.
