This is a very special table.

It comes from old-growth California redwood, trees that stood for centuries before they fell on their own. Nothing was cut down to make it. We harvested the fallen wood from the grounds of a retreat center we helped design, and built this table from it by hand.

The planks run the full length of the top, each one a little different. There are open seams between them, a knot here and there, and a surface weathered soft and silvery-brown. Four square legs of the same redwood hold it up plainly, with nothing added and nothing hidden. Run your hand along it and you can feel how long this wood has been alive.

At nearly nine feet long, it seats eight easily, and ten when everyone pulls in close. Long dinners that drift toward midnight, bread torn on the bare wood, elbows down. On a quiet morning it holds just your coffee and a book in a long patch of light.

It brings earthiness and depth to a room, and a deep groundedness. It feels ancestral, older than the house and everyone in it. It's the table your home gathers around.

Built by Organic Erotic from fallen old-growth California redwood. It's one of a kind, in good condition with the natural character of its age, at an Organic Erotic exclusive price.
