Soft, profound, and robust, this rug is hand-woven on looms by master weavers in rural Argentina, using techniques passed down for generations.

Pure Criolla sheep wool, a virgin yarn sourced from small producers close to where the rugs are woven. The shearing, washing, and spinning are all done by hand, without any machines. The color comes from the leaves of the Jume plant, which grows wild in the region; it gives the rug rich undertones and the nuanced, shifting shades of natural wool.

This is Awanay's Soga texture, their chunkiest weave, at a substantial 0.4" thick. Both sides are identical, so it can lie either way up.

Wool is naturally water repellent and stain resistant, regulates temperature, and resists flame. Vacuum regularly without the brush attachment. Skip chemical cleaners and stain removers, and call a professional cleaner if in doubt.
