Atelier de Madeleine Chest
A chest with history written into its finish. Ebonized wood worn soft at every edge, the black rubbed back to a warm red glow wherever a hand, a hip, or a drawer pull has passed for years.
This is the Theodore Alexander "Atelier de la Madeleine" line, and this one wears its age honestly. Two small drawers ride above two full ones, each pulling open on a round brass knob gone quietly soft with tarnish. The top is different from the rest of the case, a warm honey wood banded in a single dark inlay line, the grain still glowing under its old lacquer. Four tapered legs carry it low and grounded, curving gently outward at the foot the way French case pieces from this era do.
Picture it low against your wall, holding what an entry or a bedroom actually needs. Keys set down without thinking. A stack of books. The small daily things your hand reaches for without looking. The wear only makes it feel more yours, more lived, more like it was always there.
Set your things down, let the light catch the brass, wipe it clean, begin again.
