Tall and slender, crowned with a soft arch. A glass cabinet that lets the light pass all the way through it.

Four panes of glass run down the front door and down each side, so whatever you set inside is seen from every angle. Above them, a half-moon window sits under the curve of the arched top. The paint is a warm antique cream, worn back at the edges and flecked with fine dark speckles, and a thin dark line traces every pane like ink around a drawing. A small pewter drop pull opens the door under your hand. Below, carved cabriole legs lift the whole piece off the floor on a softly scalloped apron.

Fill it as a pantry, with jars of grain and dried herbs, stacked linens, stoneware, a collection of glass. Or let it hold books and small treasures in a bedroom or bath. At just under 16 inches wide, it slips into the narrow places most furniture can't reach: beside a doorway, at the end of a hall, in the corner of your kitchen.

It brings a quiet, feminine lightness to a room. Height without heaviness, softness in the arch and the curve of the legs, and a sense of breath, since you can see straight through it to the wall behind.
