This armoire has presence.

Two tall doors in deep green-black, worn back by hand until ochre breaks through like light through old paint. Each holds a single panel of warm red-brown wood, traced in a fine red line. Below, four drawers with small iron rings, and at the top a stepped cornice in ochre and red.

The form is old; the feeling is entirely now.

Open it and the inside is dark and quiet. One high shelf, and room below for linens, blankets, a winter's worth of wool.

It brings depth to a room, something grounded, warm, a little ancestral. Color that feels earned rather than applied.

In the Dutch colonial style of Java, sourced from ABC Carpet & Home. In excellent condition, with one small note: the ring pull on the lower right drawer is missing. Offered at the Organic Erotic exclusive price of $1,850.
