Vintage Mahogany Barrel-Back Chairs, Grey-Blue Bouclé (Pair)
Two chairs that wrap around you like they were made for lingering, upholstered in a grey-blue bouclé the color of overcast morning light.
Barrel backed and deep, the frame in a dark glossy mahogany with faux bamboo reeded arms and legs, each one banded in narrow turned rings. At the base of every arm, a small window of birds eye burl glows honey gold against the dark wood, a quiet detail worth finding twice. The upholstery is a chunky, nubby weave, cool grey shot through with blue, textured enough to feel under your palm before you sit.
Pull them close for conversation, or set one alone by a window for the hour you disappear into a book. Two is a room already arranged. Morning light finds the burl first, then settles into the weave of the fabric, and the chairs hold their shape and their color the way real, well-made things do.
