A chest wrapped entirely in hand-worked brass, warm as low firelight even in an empty room.
Its silhouette curves the way old furniture used to, a bombe front swelling gently outward, cabriole legs tapering to the floor. But it's the brass that holds you. Every surface, the top, the sides, each of the three drawer fronts, is hand engraved and hand stamped with a dense tapestry of diamonds, florets, and scrollwork, so fine it reads almost like lace pressed into metal. A narrow band of rose toned copper runs between each drawer, warmer against the yellow brass, and a rope twist trim follows the top's serpentine edge like a border drawn in light.
Decades of hands have worn the surface into a deep, uneven patina, brighter where fingers have opened the drawers a thousand times, richer and darker across the top where it has simply sat and been looked at. This is not a piece trying to look old. It is old, and it wears that history the way good brass always does, without apology.

Materials
Solid wood case fully clad in hand-engraved and repousse brass sheet, with contrasting copper banding between drawers and turned brass hardware. One-of-a-kind vintage find, sold as is with its natural aged patina.
